Hey all~!

So I know that in my last post I promised a few entries to come and none of those have really appeared yet...SO in order to get my butt into gear I have decided to get the BooHoo post up today and I'm hoping to get some of the nail polish reviews up in the next two weeks, but hauls will be coming up in the next few days so keep your eye out for them.

Boohoo

This is actually my second purchase from Boohoo. I have bought one top from there before and it's gorgeous. If you want to see that one later, just leave a comment and I'll post it if people are interested.

For those who don't know, BooHoo is an online UK fashion store that sells clothes, shoes, accessories etc. They have free shipping to Australia and are constantly having sales. In general, the clothes can be quite cheap but there are some that are more expensive, but if you look for sales you will have a great experience and you're wallet won't hate you. :)

Read on to see what I bought and my thoughts on the items and the shopping experience.

My purchases

There was a sale going on a few weeks ago, I think it was 20% off, and I bought two dresses. The two dresses came to a total of $90, but with the discounts applied from the sale I got them both for $72 and with free shipping I was happy.  I am always a bit hesitant to purchase clothing online because of my body shape, but I really loved these dresses so I kind of threw caution to the wind and went with it.  Here's what I got:
This is the "Georgina Leopard Print Top Chiffon Mixi Dress". This dress was $40 on the website (although I didn't pay that much for it) and I was drawn to it on the site originally because of the zippered front. I have seen a lot of dresses in stores in this style but all of them had cup outlines, making it something that I couldn't wear. I really loved the zip style and when I saw this online WITHOUT the cup outlines in the bust, and on sale, I threw the dress straight into the cart.

Compliments: I am rather short, so I am always concerned that dresses are going to sit longer than they should on me - happy to report this sat perfectly!! The underskirt wasn't too long and the flowing material doesn't drag and is rather gorgeous!! I love the style, the colouring - I just love it!

Complaints: I do have two complaints with this dress: the dress came with built in bra cups (these were too small for my bust and made the dress sit weird) AND the zipper detailing...more decoration than functional (see image below). These are minor complaints though as they are both things that can be fixed. I have removed the cups myself and managed to do so without destroying the dress, and I plan to take this dress to a store to make the zipper functional.

Overall: Love. I have yet to make the zipper functional, but will be wearing this out tomorrow night I believe. It's just gorgeous.

Zipper detailing on dress has backing behind it - why?!
The second dress I bought was the "Louisa Strappy Detail Skater Dress" which was listed at $50 (again, I didn't pay that). This dress came in a red, black or cream options, and the black was sold out so I decided to get the cream. It was really difficult to take a photo of this dress because of the straps so I've put a photo of the dress AND a picture of the straps (from the site) to show you:

The straps (from the back - and the black dress obviously).
Compliments: Basically, this dress is gorgeous! The material has a nice thickness to it and sits beautifully. It is really perfect for accentuating the better parts of my body and hiding the "problem areas". I love the design and the straps, just so unique.

Complaints: So, similar to my complaints for the other dress: this dress has built in cups. It's worse in this dress too because of the form fitting bust of the dress, meaning the cups (which are too small) make it look like I have four breasts, AND one of them is deformed and bent out of shape so I can't even wear this dress yet. Because of the type of material, and the fact that these cups are sewn in completely, I will not be able to remove them myself and will have to take the dress in. Oh! Also, the straps are connected to the front of the dress by these clamp things (that are removable) BUT they are sewn to the back...I don't really understand why they made it so you can take them off the front when all it means is they are hanging off the back of the dress...that's a bit weird.

Overall: I can't really be too unhappy, the only real flaw are the cups in the dress and I'm sure for most people out there that isn't an issue. I love the design and can't wait to get it fixed up so I can wear it out!

Operation of the site and service

Personally, I like the set up and operation of this site, it's easy to operate and everything is put into categories. There is a sales section so you can chose to view only items that are on clearance and I feel like that's always a nice feature to have on a site.

I do feel a little let down because the fact that both dresses have cups is omitted in the description...but I guess it's only really an issue for girls with larger busts so it's not something they consider off the bat.

The customer service (from my experience) is great and the shipping is quick. I can't remember how long it took but it was quick.

Overall, I love this store, the items are gorgeous and as soon as I get a bigger wardrobe I am going to buy some shoes from there!

That's all for today though, until next time
